The Fountain Group is currently seeking a ­­­­­­­­Scientific Operations Associate for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in ­­Cambridge, MA. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Description:

**Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm**

**1 week of training in PA [PER DIEM – hotel, food, & travel will be covered]**

  • Candidate to provide critical lab support at a customer site in Cambridge, MA.
  • The general lab services associate ensures all customers have adequate support in lab functions including gas management, glass wash, chemical inventory management, and package services as per established SOP’s and work instructions and in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
  • A successful candidate should have great attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and be able to work independently.
  • Job Responsibilities:
    • Pick up, deliver, wash, and sanitize biologically contaminated glassware and plastic ware.
    • Observe the established procedures for the handling and transporting of glassware and contaminated items.
    • Operate autoclaves for decontamination or sanitization.
    • Prepare items for sanitization including glassware, caps, and related articles, employing procedural steps during the process.
    • Inspect glassware for cleanliness and structural defects.
    • Deliver requested chemicals to appropriate laboratory locations.
    • Verify SDS documents in association with the chemical inventories.
    • Log/register all compounds, purchased, or synthesized by customer, on customer’s registry system in accordance with customer policies.
    • Manage and transport hazardous goods.
    • Deliver compressed gas cylinders, liquid dewars, packaged gases and related articles to point of use locations throughout the site.
    • Participates in audits and inspections and provide input as requested.
    • Receive incoming packages on loading dock.
    • Manage inventory of laboratory consumables.
    • Observe all safety precautions and be proactive in raising safety concerns.
    • Complete all required trainings in a timely manner.
    • Required to complete cross training and tasks as requested and needed.

Qualifications:

  • Fresh AS/BS in a life science (chemistry preferred) -OR- High School Diploma with professional lab experince
  • Laboratory Experience
  • Computer Literate
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Inventory / Equipment Operation
  • **Safety Data Sheets (SDS) preferred**

Compensation: $17-24 an hour depending on education/experience
