The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Infrastructure / Platform Engineer for a prominent client of ours. This is a 100% Remote Role. Details for the position are as follows:
Position Overview
The ideal candidates will possess deep hands-on experience with VMware-based infrastructure, Linux systems administration, cloud management platforms, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes ecosystems, and deployment of software into air-gapped environments.
This role is highly technical and requires engineers who are comfortable operating across infrastructure, automation, platform engineering, deployment validation, security hardening, and operational troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Prem Platform Delivery
Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere/ESXi environments supporting HPE GreenLake workloads.
Support CCP platform packaging, delivery, installation, and lifecycle management for SilverCreek deployments.
Assist with infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and release validation activities.
Troubleshoot deployment, integration, and operational issues across platform infrastructure and services.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code
Develop and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure automation.
Automate provisioning workflows through Morpheus or equivalent cloud management platforms.
Support Git-based CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform delivery.
Create automated deployment validation frameworks, health checks, smoke tests, and infrastructure testing solutions.
Air-Gapped & Regulated Environment Support
Design and support software delivery into disconnected or highly restricted environments.
Maintain private package repositories, image registries, and artifact distribution processes.
Manage certificate lifecycles, PKI integrations, and offline dependency management.
Support compliance and security requirements including STIG, FIPS, and similar regulated deployment standards.
Platform Operations
Support Linux infrastructure and Kubernetes platform services.
Troubleshoot networking, storage, and virtualization-related issues.
Collaborate with platform engineering teams to optimize deployment reliability and operational efficiency.
Participate in issue triage, root cause analysis, and operational readiness reviews.
Technical Skills:
5+ years of infrastructure engineering or platform engineering experience.
Experience supporting enterprise private cloud or on-premises platforms.
Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
Experience supporting Kubernetes-based platform services.
VMware Infrastructure (Highest Priority)

9 months Contract Role (HIGH Possibility for further extension)
