Job title: Systems Engineer
Pay: $42–$50/hour, depending on experience
Duration: 4 months, with potential renewal into 2027 based on performance and business needs
Location: Tucson, AZ — Onsite
We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Systems Engineer with experience working with complex electro-mechanical devices. This role applies engineering principles and practices to complex systems, including design concept generation, design reviews, development, testing, reliability testing, and assessment of system interactions.
The Systems Engineer will make independent decisions, assist with manufacturing process development, and troubleshoot issues to determine root causes and engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop test methods, including Design of Experiments (DoE), and perform data analysis using Python.
- Analyze digital sensor outputs and associated data.
- Develop test beds and testing environments.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify root causes.
- Develop comprehensive testing plans.
- Execute hands-on testing protocols.
- Author detailed technical reports and documentation.
- Manage the defect lifecycle, including collection, documentation, and summarization for development partners.
- Participate in design reviews and system development activities.
- Conduct reliability testing and assess system interactions.
- Support manufacturing process development and engineering troubleshooting.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical, or Software Engineering preferred.
- 4+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with risk and requirements management.
- Strong technical writing skills, including experience developing protocols, reports, and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated experience working with complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Experience with test method development, testing, and data analysis.
- Python coding capability for data analysis.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in an FDA- or FAA-regulated environment.
- Medical device industry experience.
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE).
- Experience developing test beds and comprehensive testing plans.
- Experience analyzing digital sensor outputs.
- Experience with reliability testing and troubleshooting.
