Snowflake Data Platform Operations Engineer

PAY: $60-75/hour W2. Our company offers our consultants a suite of benefits after a qualification period including health, vision, dental, life and disability insurance. 
Hybrid role onsite work expected in the north Dallas area 3 days/week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-level support for Snowflake platform applications, including incident triage, resolution, and escalation.
  • Monitor Snowflake platform health and performance using observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or Snowsight.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) and Operational Rotation exercises, ensuring platform readiness and validating business continuity plans.
  • Develop, maintain and execute operational runbooks for Snowflake support scenarios and application recovery in a remote AWS region.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement platform updates and capture diagnostic information for advanced troubleshooting.
  • Support Snowflake object lifecycle management, including creation, modification, and retirement of databases, schemas, and roles.
  • Operate and manage Snowflake IAM services to include user and role management. Support IAM integration with enterprise IAM tools such as Entra (Azure AD) or Hashicorp Vault. Execute secrets rotation per policy and troubleshoot SCIM provisioning issues as required.
  • Contribute to the development of job aids, training materials, and documentation for operational support staff.
  • Use ITSM tools such as ServiceNow to manage incidents, problems, changes, and service requests.
  • Collaborate with Snowflake and internal account team to report and resolve platform issues.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Snowflake platform operations or support.
  • SnowPro Core certification preferred; additional Snowflake certifications a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL and basic scripting (Python or Bash) for operational automation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins) and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience with Linux system administration and batch scheduling tools (e.g., Autosys).
  • Basic AWS IaaS administration; Azure or GCP experience acceptable.
  • Understanding of ITSM processes and tools (ServiceNow).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Snowflake integrations with business analytics tools (Power BI, Looker, Quicksight).
  • Exposure to Snowpark container services and Snowpipe stream analytics.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake Cortex AI services.
  • Experience with CMDB tools such as CloudAware.
