Job Description
Industrial Engineer I will support manufacturing and logistics operations through process improvement, inventory analysis, and engineering support. The role focuses on optimizing plant layout, storage systems, and material flow while supporting engineering design reviews and operational efficiency initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support sequence cart design and coordinate with vendors from concept through production
- Conduct rack parts audits and optimize plant storage and inventory organization
- Perform part number analysis, inventory audits, and discrepancy resolution
- Review CAD models and engineering concepts to support manufacturing processes
- Develop and maintain standard work, PFEP documentation, and process workflows
- Assist with workstation design, plant layout optimization, and ergonomic improvements
- Perform work measurement, line balancing, and process flow optimization
- Support cost analysis (make vs. buy) and manufacturing feasibility assessments
- Utilize data analysis to identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant industrial/manufacturing engineering experience preferred
Required Skills
- CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for design review and engineering analysis
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros)
- Inventory analysis, part number tracking, and discrepancy resolution
- PFEP (Plan for Every Part) and material flow optimization
- Work measurement, line balancing, and time study techniques
- Manufacturing process layout, workstation design, and ergonomic analysis
- Continuous improvement methodologies (Lean Manufacturing, waste reduction)
- Engineering drawing interpretation and manufacturing documentation
Preferred Skills
- Manufacturing simulation and modeling tools
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for inventory and production planning
- Knowledge of Operations Excellence or similar continuous improvement frameworks
- Exposure to vendor coordination and production implementation cycles
- Cost analysis for make vs. buy decisions and process optimization
