- Pay: $30-37/hr.
- 12-month assignment with possibility for extension or conversion based on performance and budget.
- Operate and monitor high temperature furnaces used for thermal treatments
- Prepare samples and fixtures according to established procedures and experimental requirements
- Execute test runs, track schedules, and ensure timely setup of equipment to support experimental plans
- Perform basic equipment checks, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting; escalate issues as needed
- Follow all safety, PPE, and operating procedures when working with high temperature equipment and molten glass materials
- Document work, record run conditions, and support data traceability in lab tracking systems
- Coordinate closely with scientists, engineers, and technicians to prioritize workload and adjust schedules as needed
- Support startup, development, and stabilization of additional lab equipment
- Bachelor's degree in materials science, chemistry, geology, ceramics, or a related technical field
- Experience working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment involving process equipment, thermal systems, or materials handling preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow and document procedures precisely
- Experience with high temperature furnaces, heat treatment, ceramics, or glass processing is preferred
