What You Will Contribute:
Provide customer service excellence to the L'Oréal USA employee population. Responsible for all aspects of payroll tax processing and compliance including ability to answer employee inquiries with respect to L'Oréal HR, payroll tax practices in a complex large employer multi-state environment.
•Perform in a capacity of Subject Matter Expert (SME) in various areas assigned by leadership.
•Maintain SLAs as it relates to employee cases regarding taxable wages, tax withholding and various reporting
•Perform audits to ensure employee tax set up is accurate
•Perform quality review of payroll Specialist & Sr Specialist work – coach and train where necessary.
•Payroll tax reconciliation and audits
•Investigate and resolve variances between ADP Vantage, Strada, and ADP SmartCompliance
•Review, audit, and answer investigations related to Tax Notices
•Interpret internal and external payroll and time & labor laws, policies, and practices to ensure tax withholding compliance
•Administer pay cycle batch data input to payroll system for adjustments to taxable wage and tax withholding
•Audit and tie out W2s with employee pay statements
•Check, audit, and maintain tax knowledge as it pertains to employee wages and taxes
•Participate in the audits as requested by internal and external Compliance and Audit teams
•Answer employee/leadership incoming calls, cases and emails within the established SLAs as it relates to taxation
•Perform various testing on pay codes, system configuration, and projects
•Reconcile and maintain quarterly tax processing including amendments and W-2c's
•New tax type and jurisdiction setup as necessary
•Contact with various taxing jurisdictions during research and resolution of employee tax issues and company level tax notices
•Any additional duties as assigned by leadership
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
• HS diploma or equivalent coupled with 5 plus years' experience in the payroll profession
• Multi-state large employer experience
• Garnishment processing
• Extensive payroll & time system knowledge
• Multi-state Tax Calculation
• Short Term Disability Calculation including offsets
• Overpayment Calculation and Recovery
• Salary Prorations
• Proficient in MS Office applications specifically excel
• Physical in-office presence
• Flexible work schedule to accommodate employees on the West Coast
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced complex deadline-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
• ADP Vantage Payroll & Vantage Time Platform experience
