Senior Product Designer (Motion Focus)
Pay: $70–$75/hourLocation: Remote (up to 20% travel to Alameda, CA)
Duration: 11 months (potential to extend)
Overview
We’re seeking a Senior Product Designer with strong motion expertise to create polished, intuitive, and engaging product experiences. This role blends product strategy, UX design, and motion design, focusing on bringing digital experiences to life through purposeful animation and interaction.
You’ll work end-to-end—from concept through launch—while shaping how motion enhances usability, clarity, and overall product experience.
What You’ll Do
Motion & Interaction Design
- Design motion systems, transitions, and micro-interactions that guide user behavior
- Create animated states and prototypes to visualize product behavior
- Partner with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation
- Establish scalable motion principles across the design system
- Lead end-to-end product design (discovery → launch → iteration)
- Translate user needs into thoughtful, intuitive experiences
- Build wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Research
- Own product + motion design for key features
- Build interactive prototypes for complex workflows
- Define motion patterns and interaction guidelines
- Create demos and storytelling artifacts for stakeholders
- Ensure consistency across product and design systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Motion Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of product design experience
- Strong motion/animation expertise (Figma, After Effects, or similar)
- Experience designing end-to-end product experiences (not just UI/visual)
- Deep understanding of interaction design + usability
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering teams
- Background contributing to design systems
- Hybrid Product + Motion Design background
- Experience designing for complex or scaled digital products
- Strong storytelling and product thinking
