The Fountain Group s a national staffing firm, currently seeking an Android Malware Analyst for a prominent client of ours, located in Mountain View, CA 94043. Details of the position are as follows:
Shift Information:
- Monday-Friday, Standard Business Hours, Onsite Position, with Fridays working remote!
- Pay range is $65-72/hr!
- 12+ Month contract to start! This is a W2 Contract (No 1099/C2C), with a possibility of extension or conversion beyond the original duration based on performance & budget at that time.

Job Description:
- Position is primarily responsible for reverse engineering Android applications, malware, and SDK components to identify threat behaviors, attack patterns, and indicators of compromise within mobile environments.
- Position will also be responsible for performing static and dynamic analysis of APK files, binaries, and mobile executables to evaluate malware functionality, origin, and potential impact while documenting findings and preparing clear, actionable investigation reports.
- Position will be in charge of developing custom scripts, frameworks, and automation tools to support malware analysis processes, assisting with testing initiatives related to malware detection and prevention, and identifying gaps in detection engines while staying current on emerging cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional experience performing malware analysis and reverse engineering mobile or Android applications is required!
- Hands-on experience with reverse engineering and security analysis tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, JADx, or similar technologies is required!
- Strong scripting experience using Python or Bash to support automation, analysis tooling, or security research is required!
- Experience working with Android OS architecture and application structure (including APK format and permissions models) is preferred!
- Experience executing malware within sandbox environments to support controlled analysis and detection testing is preferred!
