Location: 100% Onsite — Orlando, FL

Pay Rate: $25/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm EST

Start Date: ASAP, pending successful completion of screenings

Work Type: Full-time, onsite only (no remote, hybrid, or part-time options)

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to support the full billing lifecycle in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is responsible for insurance verification, billing accuracy, claims submission, payment posting, and collections, while ensuring strict adherence to HIPAA and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage high-volume billing tasks reliably and independently.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PHI, and internal policies; escalate any concerns to leadership.

  • Verify insurance benefits and communicate co-pay responsibilities to clients; follow up to collect payments.

  • Enter and update client information accurately; contact referral sources or clients to obtain missing data.

  • Confirm sales orders and ensure all required documentation (proof of delivery, prescription, forms) is collected prior to billing.

  • Submit claims (electronic/paper), correct rejected claims, and resubmit as needed.

  • Post payments to correct accounts and reconcile outstanding balances.

  • Follow up with clients and payers on unpaid claims or invoices to ensure timely collection.

  • Provide customer service support by addressing and documenting inquiries.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 1–2+ years of medical billing experience, preferably in a healthcare, DME, or clinical setting.

  • Experience with insurance verification, claims processing, payment posting, and collections.

  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.

  • Strong accuracy, organization, and data-entry skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret payer guidelines, EOBs/ERAs, and billing documentation.

  • Proficiency with medical billing software and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Must be able to work 100% onsite in Orlando, FL.
