National Safety Manager (Direct Hire)
Locations: Dallas, TX (Preferred), Immokalee, FL and Knoxville, TN
Compensation: $115K - $140K


Overview:

The National Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs across a company's entire national operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, providing safety training, and promoting a strong safety culture at all company locations.
 
Core Competencies and Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing Safety programs
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA policies, rules, and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
 
Responsibilities
Budget Management
  • Develop and manage a national safety budget that prioritizes safety and cost control
Policy Development and Implementation
  • Create and enforce company-wide safety policies and procedures aligned with national regulations, industry standards, and best practices
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and other stakeholders to stay abreast of new regulations and industry best practices
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • Visit all operating companies annually to conduct thorough risk assessments across all company sites, identifying potential hazards, and developing preventive measures to minimize risks
Incident Investigation and Reporting
  • Lead investigations into workplace accidents and near misses, analyzing root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
  • Ensure that all accidents and incidents are reported and investigated in a timely and thorough manner
Safety Training and Awareness
  • Design and implement comprehensive safety training programs for employees at all levels, including new hire orientations, refresher courses, and specialized safety training based on job roles
Compliance Monitoring
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, conducting regular audits and inspections across all company locations
  • Performance Metrics Tracking: Monitor key safety performance indicators (KPIs) like incident rates, near miss reports, and safety compliance levels to identify best practices and areas for improvement
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Provide leadership and guidance to site safety managers, operations managers, human resources, and other departments to ensure alignment on safety goals and initiatives
  • Coordinate with maintenance departments to ensure vehicles are properly maintained and repaired
Emergency Preparedness
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, coordinating emergency drills, and ensuring readiness for potential incidents.
Communicating and Reporting
  • Regularly communicate safety updates and performance data to senior leadership, providing reports on safety trends and proactive recommendations

  • Travel requirements: up to 35%
  • Position reports to: National Operations Team Manager
  • Positions reporting to this position: OPCO Safety Managers and Claims processing administrators (indirect)
