Project Coordinator III – Internal Digital Operations

 Location: North Chicago, IL
 Pay Range: $38–$41/hour
 Work Type: Hybrid (onsite presence required)

Primary Job Function

The International Digital Operations Project Coordinator III is responsible for implementing tactical plans to activate the internal digital communications programs.
This individual will:

  • Support digital communications and content management across SharePoint and Staffbase platforms.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to execute global internal communication initiatives.
  • Maintain awareness of trends in intranet development, employee engagement, and emerging communication technologies to strengthen AbbVie’s internal digital presence.

Core Job Responsibilities

Program Execution & Project Coordination

  • Develop and implement internal digital communications strategies supporting brands, functions, and affiliates.
  • Lead small-scale initiatives under the direction of a Project Manager.
  • Support design, implementation, and distribution of internal communications (email blasts, newsletters, intranet pages, etc.).
  • Monitor intranet behavior and conduct usability studies to drive actionable insights.
  • Measure platform engagement and develop strategies to increase value and adoption.
  • Identify opportunities to innovate and leverage existing communication tools and capabilities. 

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Serve as point of contact for internal communication projects.
  • Build relationships with clients and stakeholders to understand business needs and co-create digital communication platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Commercial Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, etc.) to ensure compliance and alignment.

Digital Strategy & Optimization

  • Provide consultation on execution of internal digital communication strategies.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in intranet operations, internal digital tools, and best practices.
  • Benchmark against industry leaders to identify digital communication improvements and opportunities.
  • Partner with teams to recommend and implement programs enhancing user experience and functionality.
  • Leverage analytics and technology to drive employee engagement and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or IT (preferred)
  • 3–5 years of related experience in digital communications, design, or project coordination
  • 2+ years managing projects with internal/external clients
  • Basic knowledge of SharePoint (O365) required
  • Graphic design experience (Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or similar) preferred
  • Knowledge of digital communication channels and current technology trends

Additional Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of business objectives and ability to translate them into digital strategies
  • Customer service orientation with problem-solving and consultative skills
  • Experience with content management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professionalism, accountability, and ownership of deliverables
