Active Directory and Entra ID Engineer

Remote,

PAY: $60-65/hour W2. Our company offers our consultants a suite of benefits after a qualification period including health, vision, dental, life and disability insurance. 
This is a remote role, but they would like someone who is within a few hours of Charlotte, NC, Vineland, NJ, Phoenix, AZ, Hemlock, MI, Hickory, NC, Blacksburg, VA, or Keller, TX. 
Role may have 1-2x per year onsite meetings (team meetings).

W2 Contract role with a possibility of extension based on performance and conversion.
Manager Notes

  • High School Diploma is minimum education required. Bachelor’s is preferred.
  • Active Directory and Entra Engineer sought, this role is not just an administrator.
  • Need someone who is implementing solutions of designs that have been approved. VERY strong troubleshooting. Self-starter who can work through issues independently with support from the team.
  • Seeking a long career experience with Active Directory and more recently has transitioned into supporting Cloud environments – Azure and Entra related technologies.
  • Day to day? Involved in researching specific configurations and technologies, understanding overall Actie Directory or Entra. Synchronization, privileged access, Multi factor authentication. Will research independently and propose implementation plans. Ensure environment supportable for operations when turned over, etc.
  • This person will be working on projects based on approved designs. Will take the design and create the engineering plan to implement it, integrate it with the rest of the environment, will frequently get involved in learning new technologies.
  • Wants to see large global enterprise scope experience. Need global, enterprise environment. Manufacturing setting would be great but is not required.
  • Current environment: 50,000 Active Directory users, 1000s of applications in Entra tenant. 20 domains across multiple forests. Going through a migration now. Would like to see to see an environment similar in scope to this.

Required skills

  • Core Active Directory Domain Services, Entra AD (formerly Azure AD).
  • Want to see deep Active Directory experience.
  • Understand how to troubleshoot performance and configuration issues.
  • Experience integrating Entra with other applications in cloud services. Health monitoring. GPOs, Privileged Access workstation best practices.
  • Utility services like Quest Recovery Manager, third party audit products – similar tools should have.

Preferred skills

  • Credential tiering (red forest used to be called).  That would be a BIG PLUS.
  • Privilege access workstations experience with Intune, conditional access copilot.
  • Understanding of how to secure Active Directory and optimize configurations for a secure environment.
  • Entra related services – conditional access (control which computers connect to the cloud service).
  • MFA – multi factor authentication. SSO – single sign on.
