Overview
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Shared Services team in Tampa, FL. This role will provide autonomy in processing AP transactions, resolving vendor inquiries, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be experienced in SAP, OCR (ReadSoft preferred), and Microsoft Office tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions electronically using 3-way matching across US, Canadian, and/or manufacturing plant operations.
- Coordinate assigned AP activities to ensure accurate and timely payment processing via SAP FUSION, Wise, or Canada platform.
- Serve as an AP Champion to ensure compliance with approved policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with buyers, vendors, and business partners to resolve parked and blocked invoices.
- Manage vendor inquiries, including vendor statement reconciliations and procurement issues.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication across internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the shared services environment.
- Support special projects that impact shared services and overall business goals.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of accounts payable experience required.
- High School Diploma required; College degree preferred.
- Experience processing high volume invoices (75–100/day).
- ERP system experience required; SAP strongly preferred.
- Experience with OCR systems, preferably ReadSoft.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excel: Intermediate/Advanced (vlookup, pivot tables required).
- Outlook experience required.
- Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work overtime during peak demand periods and monthly closing cycles.
- Consumer products industry background preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of document imaging systems such as ReadSoft.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box.
