Sourcing Specialist

Overview:
The contract role will be responsible for supporting operational day-to-day sourcing execution activities in alignment with business requirements to enable quality, reliability, and continuity of supply under the direction of the Category Leads. The role supports the direct materials and services categories which include raw materials, single use technologies, packaging, laboratory supplies, logistics, contract testing labs, and contract manufacturing. This role is also expected to work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders and third-party suppliers. This role is an on-site role, located in Santa Monica, CA.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage sourcing requests and internal Item Requests
  • Request quotes, samples, and documentation from suppliers
  • Onboards suppliers and materials into the ERP system(s)
  • Serves as the SME (subject matter expert) for the Go to Market Process (RFI, RFP, RFx) including eSourcing tools such as Ariba Sourcing.
  • Conducts analysis to support sourcing activities (RFx, negotiations, category strategy, business case development, savings initiatives)
  • Sourcing Assessment of Supplier Change Notifications
  • Works closely with cross-functional stakeholders to address their needs and ensure AQSCI from the supplier base
  • Administration of Confidently and or Statement of Work agreements under the direction of the Category Leads
  • Engages with various Tech Ops functions such as Planning, Logistics, PD, MSAT and Quality for appropriate programs and projects
  • Partners with Category Leads to drive Supplier Diversity, Sustainability, Savings, Inflation Mgmt, and other sourcing initiatives
  • Works with internal cross functional teams and suppliers to resolve invoice issues in a timely manner
  • Facilities supplier escalations / issues and coordinates resolution with internal stakeholders
  • Work with Category Leads to support supplier business review meetings
  • Maintains the pricing, taxonomy, and other vendor master data utilizing GPLM and other system tools

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years' experience in regulated industries, preferably with an understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, its quality requirements and GMPs
  • 2+ years' experience coordinating or contributing to Change Control process within regulated industries
  • 1+ years' experience in purchasing of raw materials, packaging, supplies, consumables, lab, logistics and services
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle and or SAP preferred) or ability to learn systems quickly.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen
  • Ability to effectively use and present data through MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word, Smartsheet's and other Reporting Tools
