The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a ­­­­­­­­Data Analyst (Sales) for a prominent client of ours.  This position is REMOTE** (Areas listed below). Details for the position are as follows:

Data Analyst – Sales Analytics Team
$60/hour W2 Contract | Remote (Zones 2 & 3 only)

We’re hiring a Data Analyst to join the Sales Analytics team and provide critical support across data quality, revenue funnel analysis, and business intelligence reporting. In this role, you'll be instrumental in helping drive data-informed decision-making and optimizing the company’s revenue performance.

You’ll collaborate closely with Sales Operations, GTM teams, and business stakeholders to analyze sales metrics, maintain accurate reporting infrastructure, and identify actionable insights to support revenue growth. This is an excellent opportunity to deepen your analytics expertise, work with leading tools like SQL and Tableau, and contribute to high-impact initiatives in a dynamic, data-driven environment.

Note: We are only hiring candidates located in Zones 2 & 3.
Candidates in Zone 1 (NYC metro, SF Bay Area, Seattle metro) will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Funnel Analysis

  • Partner with Sales Ops and GTM teams to assess funnel performance (lead-to-close conversion, sales velocity, funnel leakage).
  • Conduct historical and cohort-based analysis to pinpoint opportunities for sales process optimization.
  • Write and execute custom SQL queries for data analysis and business reporting.

Data Accuracy & Reconciliation

  • Perform regular data quality checks and reconcile discrepancies across systems (e.g., Salesforce vs. Finance platforms).
  • Investigate data inconsistencies and collaborate with systems/business teams to resolve integrity issues.

Revenue Reporting & Dashboards

  • Build and maintain automated and ad hoc dashboards using Tableau, Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable reporting solutions, focusing on pipeline health, bookings, conversion rates, and quota attainment.

Gap Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Identify data/reporting gaps caused by system limitations or process misalignment.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to metrics definitions, data pipelines, or source inputs to improve overall data accuracy and insight generation.

Documentation & Governance

  • Maintain detailed documentation on reporting logic, formulas, business rules, and data lineage.
  • Champion data governance best practices to support consistent and accurate analytics workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with data validation and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and spreadsheet modeling.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating datasets.
  • Expertise in Tableau for building dashboards and visualizations.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce reporting and CRM data structures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience synthesizing complex data into digestible insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
