Job Description:
- 12-month contract with the possibility of extending or converting to permanent based on performance and budget.
- Schedule: Must be able to work a hybrid schedule of 4 days in office/1 remote; may be 5 days in the office when projects are busy*****
- As a part of the ingredient research team, gathers information on new and Client ingredients, studies ingredient interactions and functionalities
- Conducts bench-top experiments, formula calculations, and develops prototypes for product tastings and sensory testing across a variety of KDP brands and products
- Interprets test results, writes technical reports, and effectively communicates information within the organization
- Fully understands R&D functions and project management process to lead projects
- Partners with various functions of R&D (Sensory, Nutrition, Regulatory, Flavor Technology, Chemistry, Process Engineering, and Technical Services)
- Manages multiples projects and delivers updates on projects within the business to key stakeholders and cross-functional peers
- Maintains accurate and detailed record of laboratory work
- Work appropriately and safely in a laboratory environment
- Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing business needs and priorities
- Use formulation software to document lab work and formulas.
- B.S. or M.S. in Food Science or Chemical Engineering
- Experience in food/beverage product development
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related function within food/beverage (R&D, Quality), Client, and/or commensurate advanced education
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Skilled in problem solving, with a growth mindset
- Must have strong food science background
- Must be able to summarize project details and write research reports
- Must have excellent written, presentation and communication skills
- Self-motivated, takes initiative, highly collaborative with strong problem-solving skills
